As you know, we missed our connecting flight and spent the evening in Detroit. As we were unpacking in our hotel it was discovered that someone had lost their phone (no name given) while we were sprinting thru the airport. This person also lost her shoes three times while we were headed for the gate. :)
Good news! phone was found -- only had to go back to airport to claim it. Then it was off to a good dinner at the Merriman Grill. Met some folks from Alabama who were in Detroit for family reunion during breakfast and then off to airport for flight! Exciting times.
From Judy- I did lose my phone and it was triumphantly returned by the kindest, most handsome young man. I thank him where ever he may be:roasting in Detroit. I was the one who had a change of clothes, or thirteen, with me, and mind you the only one.
We had a kind hotel shuttle driver, Sammy (nice name) who graciously drove us back to the airport and then the grill for dinner. We wound our way back to the hotel on foot, through a plethora of hotel parking lots. We did sneak into the Crown Plaza, half way back, to see how the other side lives and left after taking a few snapshots of their lobby; to be posted at another time. One can only continue to dream. Our dream continues............
